A year ago our lives changed. We all went home and our business changed literally in a heart beat. It was a scary time for everyone as the threat of COVID-19 became real in the months to come for countless families. It's been a difficult time for all of us.
On Saturday, a guest shared her story - that she had recently lost her husband to COVID-19. She shared that she was not able to see him until his last moments. Her heart is broken, and to see the resistance to safety measures is like an arrow to the heart of someone who is living with losing a loved one to COVID-19.
We in no way take COVID-19 lightly, and we have changed the way our business operates to make it as safe as possible, because it is personal to all of us. We want to see our friends and family again too, and we want to continue to serve our community.
We're not in Kansas any more. Sometimes it's hard to fathom the reality of this situation. That we can't have what we want when we want it. That life is not the way it used to be just a year ago. That we can't see our loved ones and hold their hands when they need us the most.
But this is life right now and we need to support each other and be empathetic to each other's experience.
Be safe. Be kind.
